Not-So-Spicy Guacamole
I am originally from the Southwest of the United States. I have lived in southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. I grew up with a love of Mexican food, and the love for Guacamole. The one thing that always caught up to me? The inability to eat spicy food. My favorite place to eat in Las Vegas would make fresh Guacamole for you, on the spot. You could tell them if you wanted it to be spicy, not spicy, more salt, less lime. ANYTHING. And, it was there that I learned how to make this ultimate dip.
Ingredients:
-
2 Avocados, preferably very soft
-
1 Lime
-
1 Large Juicy Tomato, or about 1 cup of tomato total
-
1/4 Red Onion, or white (I would suggest using less white onion)
-
1/2 bunch of cilantro, or about 1/2 c. chopped
-
Salt
Step:
-
Put the Avocados in a bowl, and begin to mash
-
Chop the Tomato, and onion, coursely; place into the bowl and mix
-
Juice 1/2 of the lime into the bowl and stir. You may need the other half, it depends on how it tastes to you.
-
Chop the cilantro finely, and add to the mixture.
-
Put about 1/4 t. salt in the mixture, and mix everything.
-
You may need more salt or more lime, or both. The lime and salt are there to not only add flavor, but to help preserve the dip from oxidation and turning brown.
-
Enjoy as a dip, a sauce, on a salad as a dressing, or with your fingers!
