Welcome to Light Island

As of late, I've had worse and worse gallbladder issues. And up until this week, I was doing my best to ignore it when it cried out in pain for having to process fat. So, no more ignoreing. Instead...

Welcome to Light Island.

Why I'm doing this, and what I mean by "light":

The first meaning is that I"m going to be eatin light foods. Foods that are higher in water content, and aren't as calorie dense. This is for a reason; I want to not stress my system at all, if possible, and by eating the foods that are lighter in nature, and contain more natural water while having fewer calories, I believe I can achieve this. I'm not "limiting" myself, but I am trying to stick to grapes and melons. Between the two, I have a lot of variety, and I will hopefully be less tempted to stray. I want a focus on melon, (partially because grapes are uber expensive) and have a touch of grapes here or there. I will be having some papaya eventually, just because I have 2 delicious looking papaya that are ready to go. Waste not, right?

The second reason I'm calling this Light Island is because... well, sun light! I'm going to do my best to get in at least 30 minutes of sunlight a day. I haven't been getting very much lately, and I need to make an effort. Whether that's through eating outside, walking the dogs, or going for a run. At least 30 minutes of sunlight. And, during this time, I hope to be able to meditate, and get to know myself better.

My delicious diner for Day 1 was a bowl of honeydew melon (the bowl is really large, but I swear, there's lots of melon in there!)

How long am I going to do this? That depends on my body. I'm using this time as both a detox, but also as a self-learning practice. I don't want to rush it by saying I only have a week, but I also am not going to stop myself if I truly feel like I need something else in my body.

What will my day look like? This is the easy part! Grapes and melons! I'm going to try and have 1/2-1 melon for breakfast, 1-2 lbs of grapes for lunch, and then 1/2-1 melon for dinner again. I'm not planning on adding greens, but If I feel as if that is the only thing my body is craving, I am not going to turn it down.

Thanks for reading, and be sure to check in for the next few days if you want to find out how it goes!
