Day 3 on Light Island: Letting my body heal

Happy Thursday all!
Today is Light Island Day 3. Well, 3.5. I normally work nights, and switch to days on my weekend, staying up on Wednesday. However, this week I was very VERY tired, so I only ate one "extra" meal.
Back to today, though! Today is a bittersweet day. The beautiful sun the I have been eating my morning meals in is covered by a thick blanket of rain clouds. I'm not too sad because my garden could use the water. So, good and bad.
I started the morning by cuddling with my two dogs. After I put them outside (and saw it was rainy) I went to my fruit selection and took a moment to let my body decide; my natural body. My choices are grapes (nice and cold in the fridge), a watermelon, a honeydew or one of the cantelopes. Once I smelled the sweet aroma that the cantelopes were emitting, I knew that was my breakfast.

It's amazing to me that I had gone 20-something years of my life without picking fruit the right way. How did I use to pick fruits?
I eat half a melon at a time, because I can't usually eat it all in one sitting, so I break it up into two sittings. This was delicious! I absolutely love that I can eat these now, and I'm even more happy that I've gotten better at deciding the ripeness.
I plan on having grapes for lunch, and then enjoying either the other cantelope for dinner, or watermelon for dinner. I want to transition to a primarily melons, probably in a couple days because I'm still having some acid reflux issues and I think it might be when I eat grapes on an empty stomach.
I can definetly appreciate the closeness I have to my own body during this time. Both my acid reflux and gallbladder issues have gotten a lot better, and I know that it takes time to fix it. The honeydew was really gentle on my stomach, and so far the cantelope has been easy on it as well. (Hence the desire to switch to mostly melon in the future). The gallbladder pain and another issue that has resurfaced have been wiping me out, and I've slept a lot more than usual. I don't want to rush my body, as I know it's trying to heal itself.
If you want an "Island" that is easy on your system, while still leaving you feeling satisfied, the Light Island is great. A Melon Island souds like it would be easier if you have acid reflux issues. (I'll be sure to follow up).
I plan on going for a couple more days, or longer who knows. And I will switch to primarily melon in a couple of days. If anybody wants to join me on instagram, just tag your posts as #lightisland!
Have a Happy rest-of-the-week!
